Thank You.

Marlan DowneyOn behalf of Marlan’s family, let me thank you for the outpouring of support from everybody.

Marlan’s enthusiasm for, and expertise in the energy industry was legendary, as was his passion for teaching and encouraging the next generation. He would be honored and proud to be remembered in this way.

To that end, the family has setup a Charitable Giving Fund with Fidelity Charitable to fund scholarships in the field of Geology for generations to come.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation in Marlan’s memory to the newly-created fund, simply make a check out to Fidelity Charitable and send it to: P.O. Box 770001, Cincinnati, OH 45277-0053. In the memo line, please write “Marlan Downey Memorial Fund.”

We know that many of you have already made donations to charities of your choice, in Marlan’s memory, and we are very grateful.

More To Come

We will post a digital copy of a Memorial Book we’re compiling from his friends and colleagues from around the world.
