Oil and gas operators around the world rely on Wild Well for engineered solutions that safely prevent and resolve well control incidents—more than any other company.
The company was founded way back in 1975 and, although their process and approach had changed to keep up with the latest drilling technologies, the technology that parses and disseminates that genius to the boots on the ground was behind the times.
In partnership with Indigo Beam, JDM Digital designed the frontend framework for a native iPhone and Android application that allowed the boots on the ground a way to make critical calculations quickly and parse the data from a central location.
The development team (and the project timeframe) demanded we not stray too far from native controls. So the design team at JDM Digital took our phones, tablets, and sketch books outside to the middle of nowhere to put our ideas to the test. What we ended up designing is a intuitive iOS-inspired interface that uses a dark UI and enormous tap-targets for fast and easy one-handed use in the glare of the sun and in the dark of the night.
