To a small company, customers aren’t just another cog in the mechanism, they’re the lifeblood of the business. Here are 4 simple tips for “going the extra mile” with your website to save your customer’s time and make your site more enjoyable and more productive.

1. Go mobile

Mobile is no longer the future.  It’s right now.   A mobile-friendly website is essential.  If you don’t have the budget for a separate, mobile version of the site, at least speak with your favorite developer to make sure the site is as legible on the small screen as possible.

3. Make action easy

If your site is more than just a digital brochure, you  should allow users to find/contact  you from every page, be it an e-mail address in the footer, a phone number in the header, a button, a link a or a minimized form.  Make it easy to take action.

2. Be brief

Your users are looking for information. Period. Even if they’ve come to your site to make a purchase, they’ll first want to research.  Take the time to write FAQs, Help files and more.  Make your site and invaluable resource and watch it make the sale.

4. Stay simple

A good rule of thumb in web design is to ask yourself, “What can I remove to make this easier to use?”  Once you start de-cluttering, start moving things around.  Keep revising until the site’s clean, well organized and easy to navigate.
