GoToMeeting from Citrix is their flagship web-meeting service that allows unlimited online meetings for up to 15 people for about $50/month.  Recently, GoToMeeting has gone mobile publishing two mobile apps (one for Android and one for Apple’s iOS for iPhone).  What do the nerds at JDM think?   Read on.

GoToMeeting is SaaS that allows you to host an online meeting with up to 15 people. Through the desktop tool, you can share any application on your computer and collaborate in real time. Attendees (with or without accounts) can join the meeting in seconds.

GoToMeeting Mobile App Review

GoToMeeting Screenshot Login AndroidUnfortunately, the GoToMeeting mobile apps are not quite fully fleshed out.  You can’t share your screen or use their other services (such as GoToWebinar) but you can attend online meetings via your Android or iPhone – very handy for the exectuive on the go.  As with the desktop version, you don’t have to have a GoToMeeting account to attend – only to host the online meeting.  Also a big problem with the mobile app (though not the fault of GoToMeeting) is that certain cellphone providers won’t allow simultaneous data and voice sharing (CDMA).  So all those AT&T users out there can rest assured there really is value to CDMA.

Since choosing GoToMeeting, JDM’s been very happy with them, though the difference between GoToMeeting and WebEx continues to narrow.  With the launch of these new mobile apps, we’re excited to remain loyal GoToMeeting customers.
