In a member email sent today, Netflix says, “It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.  This means no change: one website, one account, one password…in other words, no Qwikster.”

Qwikster by Netflix

We reported on the price change, rebranding, micro-branding and utter debacle Netflix has put themselves through recently.  Today, an hour or so ago, Netflix sent a short email to members.  Besides taking the opportunity for a shameless plug for a few more streaming selections, they seem pretty clear.

Might have something to do with their stock plummeting last week.  Could be the result of members jumping ship in droves.  I think it’s just a perfect example of how to ruin a rebranding.

Goodbye Qwikster.  We hardly knew you and nobody really wanted you.
