As a creative designer, I get about as "giddy as a schoolgirl" when I find a cool new font. I just can't wait to find an excuse to it! A good font can drive the whole look & feel of a design and can really elevate your work to a whole new level!

In an ever-changing design environment, a designer really needs to have a collection of contemporary and cool fonts in their font arsenal to keep their designs looking fresh and modern! Here are 5 of my favorite new, cool, free fonts to add to your collection. The list consists of some beautiful fonts for long copy and general design use as well as some sublime experimental ones!
NOW! Grotesk
Retro-futuristic unicase with alternates and ligatures, specially designed for magazine headlines and cheerful logos. Inspired by the art deco geometry and late 2000s trends in graphic design.
Works as text patterns more so than headlines to be read.

Shuffle
Another really cool handwritten 3D font with no holes (allegedly to save on ink) that dances between pop-art and youthful optimism. Brings me back to a passing notes in class. Oh, those were the days!
The 1MB zip file download includes both formats, a readme.txt file, and two .jpg files (a preview and one with my contact details).

Prognostic
Check out this new, cool psedudo-retro unicase font packed with additional angled serifs make this font stand out and break all the rules of kerning.
There’s no need for capital letters in this font. If you’re working with a brand that loves its all-lowers, this font should be a prime suspect.

I love the capital descenders that break the line and elongated/miss-matched middle weights (“P” and “A” as examples).
