Apple’s New CEO to Demo iPhone5

According to AllThingsD, Tuesday, Oct. 4th will be the day Apple will unveil the next iteration of the iPhone and who better to make the introduction to the world than their new CEO, Tim Cook.  Update: we were right!

Now, we could be wrong but sources indicate the much anticipated iPhone 5 will be available for purchase just a few weeks after its unveiling.  They’ve simply waited as long as they could but they’ve got a hot new toy and a new CEO to introduce to a post-Steve Jobs world.

The pressure will be on Cook to turn in a good performance at the event, especially after what has so far been a very smooth leadership transition at Apple.

What will be interesting to see, of course, is if Jobs himself will also make an appearance, which is something that is likely to be determined by his health.

And while putting Jobs onstage with Cook could diminish the new leader’s first public effort, what better “but wait there’s more” than Jobs himself making a cameo appearance?  Stay tuned.
