FlatIcon is a Godsend

Icon fonts are pretty awesome.  Essentially, they allow web designers to create vector images but use them like a web-safe font.  That means infinite scaling without losing resolution while keeping the resources to load the website very lightweight.  Now, FlatIcon makes the process easier than ever.  It’s a godsend we just HAD to share.

Font icons are nothing all that new.  For years, web designers have been using pre-built font icon sets like Font Awesome, but that’s precisely the problem–we’ve been using them for years.

You can generate your own by creating a vector icon set and converting it into your own icon font using something like Fontello, but it’s a pain and time-consuming to make updates as you go along.
