WordPress powers 14.7% of the top 1 million websites world-wide.
According to WordPress news’ “State of the Word”, WordPress has grown to power 14.7% of the top 1 million world-wide websites, up from 8.5%, and the latest data show 22 out of every 100 new active domains in the US are running a WordPress CMS.
Matt Mullenweg, One of the Founding Developers of WordPress, talks about 2011 and 2012 in the world of WordPress in his “State of the Word” address at this years’ Wordcamp in San Fransisco (video here).
